You can speed up the interaction by 2-3 seconds, if you happen to have Quickness. As you can see in the link, most classes have an option to get this boon somehow for a short time. Just get it right before you interact. When I tested it without the boon, interaction took ~ 7 seconds, with quickness it is 4-5 seconds.

Your best way is to join a HP (Hero Point) train in any of the expansion maps. To find one either keep an eye in map chat, ask in map chat for help, or look in the Looking for Group (LFG) tab under the map you were trying to get them off of. Each Expansion HP gives you 10 points rather than 1. Hero points is a character -based currency, earned by completing Hero challenges, leveling up, or purchased from the WvW vendor Heroics Notary and spent on unlocking new skills and traits in the Training tab of the Hero panel. Completing a hero challenge in Central Tyria grants a single hero point. Also, worth noting that HoT has frequent "hero point trains" where people lead a group through the map kicking over all the hero points en masse. This can be good for you, as you can get an easy hero point boost while focusing on staying alive in the swarm of players and not having to really make sense of the madness that is Heart of Thorns. Most of the ones where you fight something could already be reactivated daily for the item/exp reward, this is just a visual indicator of that. Not new but the icon is new. All you have to do is follow PoF story and do challenges in each map, eventually you have gathered enough points to unlock whole elite. You can also do some challenges in HoT region (if you own HoT expansion).
