It can often be the engine drive shaft speed sensor (ESS) not properly reporting to the ECU. Also the Mass Airflow Sensor (MAF) may need to be cleaned (electronics cleaner spray and don't touch the element itself). Worst case would be low compression. Reply Like. 04-21-2011, 02:25 PM.
Audi Q7 tdi 2010 (60000 mls) crank but not start. Both electric fuel pumps working .I suspect mechanical high pressure pump not building any pressure.Belt for this pump is ok.No pulse on injectors.I have ground but no +.I'm not able to scan fuel pressure in common rail with my OTC Genisys. But gave me code "low fuel pressure in fuel rail" before I reset it.My question is "does computer desable

S4 (B6 & B7 Platforms) Discussion - Audi S4 B7 - Long cranking, no hot/cold starting, extended cranking; SOLVED! - This issue seems to be quite prevalent with these vehicles. I had the same problem for months (very long cranking) until my car eventually did not start at all. I do all my work myself and this is
Hello to all I need some help with an Audi Q7 3.0 TDI V6 year 2007 with EDC16CP34 ECU. I have changed high pressure pump, fuel pressure regulator , fuel pressure sensor, clean the two pump tank and put new fuel but always car crank but no start. In ECU i have P0087.. I know that this car have a lot of problem with water damage on ecu .
2004 audi a4 1.8T not cranking up. Went to crank the car and i got nothing but fast clicking and would not crank. on the second try did the same thing but then i got a a few beeps at me in the inside of the car after i tried cranking it. Husband popped open the hood and he said the sound was coming from the left side under the hood.
1) Test the fuel pressure regulator in the rail system. This is the one attached to the end of the rail. There is a method I found at Elsawin, that consists of taking out the hose that comes from that valve in the rail system. That hose must not output any fuel in the first 10 seconds the engine is turned on.
Just come across this thread trying to solve the starting problem on my Son's A4 B5 facelift. It has exactly the same symptoms as the others, will not start unless the glow plug light is seem. I've replaced the relays, but it still takes ages (or longer) of turning the key before it will start and it's getting worse.
On a side note, a good friend who owned an 05 A4 2.0T Q had the same issue, and the car would not start at all. He had it towed to the dealer Knopf in Bethlehem Pennsylvania, and they apparently replaced his coil packs, and reflashed the ecu. Two days later, he parked the car, went into a restaurant and came outside to find his car on fire.
Suggesting something was spilled causing the buttons to stick, and drain the battery. I removed the chrome bezel around the center console buttons, therefore no more sticking, (eliminating the source of what the dealer says is the problem) but the starting problem has not gone away.
When you push the Start button: First, the vehicle's computer checks if the brake pedal is depressed. Second, it checks if the vehicle is in Park or Neutral. Third, the computer checks if the battery has enough power, and only then activates the starter motor that turns over the engine, or switches to "Ready" mode if it's a Hybrid or Electric car.
When these fuses blow, the system they support stops working, and the engine stops running. As a result, there is no injector pulse while cranking. To check a blown fuse you have to pull the fuse out of its place and check it by seeing the internal wire to see its continuity if you see it cut you have to change it with a new one with the same
Mbakar. AUTO START/STOP MALFUNCTION ON 2017. Q7. Some of you are probably jealous that I have this issue as it is a convenient issue, but knowing that there might be something wrong with the car just doesn't sink right. So as the title sums up in think my auto start/stop is not working properly.
You still can diagnose engine performance and driveability problems if you know the components or systems that are most likely to cause these common issues: Loss of engine power. No-crank condition. Engine stalling issues. Hard-start condition. Increased fuel consumption. Engine knock. Backfire. Since 1982, the On-Board Diagnostic (OBD) system

Hi. We have got a customer with a Audi Q7 2007 3.0TDi. The problem is he has a very intermittent starting problem, when it wont start the car only cranks for 2-3 seconds and then stops cranking. If the car is going to start it cranks for 12 seconds or so (Doesn't take this long to start but unplugging the fuel pressure regulator give a 12
A dead or discharged car battery, can prevent your engine from cranking or starting. Open the hood and battery voltage with a voltmeter. A battery that has more than about 12.4 volts, should have enough voltage to start your engine. If the battery is low or dead, try jump starting the battery, from another vehicle.

Long crank time. So, recently (and not consistantly) I get a hard start condition. I mean, I hear the starter turning over, and I read good voltage once it finally starts, but it takes a very long time to crank!!! Sometimes it starts up right away and sometimes it seems to take forever. Of course, I always panic a bit that
